Week by Week
Week 1
May 19 - May 25
Introduction to the program and completion of RCR Modules. Team met together to discuss project plan. Rough draft of abstract and website were created.
Week 2
May 26 - June 1
Continued working with Dr. Ali and Malik to learn more about the project. I began learning more about machine learning and signal processing as well.
Week 3
June 2 - June 8
Continued learning about more algorithms such as SVM and BiLSTM. Began working on some diagrams as well. Began making recordings for dataset.
Week 4
June 9 - June 15
Continued researching SVM and ECOC models. Finished diagrams and started extracting features of ASVspoof datasets.
Week 5
June 16 - June 22
Began experimenting with machine learning environment in MATLAB. Also learned how to use Audacity to record and splice samples. Had the midterm presentation this week.
Week 6
June 23 - June 29
This week, I finalized the abstract and registered for MIDSURE. I also continued to record and cut replay samples. I used MATLAB to compare SVM to other machine learning algorithms. I prepared audio files for feature extraction
Week 7
June 30 - July 6
This was Independence day week! I extracted more features from the SMILES lab dataset and conducted several experiments.
Week 8
July 7 - July 13
Started working on my final report. I also continued to run experiments on both of the datasets: ASVspoof and SMILES lab.
Week 9
July 14 - July 20
I had to work on my poster and finish it this week. I also continued to run more experiments with different variables.
Week 10
July 21 - July 27
This was the last week! We had our poster presentation at MSU MIDSURE on the 24th. The next days I worked on finishing my deliverables and submitting them.
